Short answer: PTFE film is a thin, flexible,
non-stick sheet used for release layers, insulation and wrapping. Dimple
sheet is PTFE with a pattern of small recesses, used in slide bearings
where the dimples hold lubricant. PTFE washers are flat rings used for
sliding, sealing and insulation. All three use PTFE’s low friction and
chemical resistance.

PTFE film rolls

Film is supplied in thin rolls, often cut to width. Its non-stick
surface lets sticky materials, rubber and resins peel away cleanly, so
it is used as a release layer in presses, laminating and heat sealing.
It also insulates electrically and protects surfaces from chemicals.
When you order film, give the thickness, width and roll length, and say
whether you need it plain or with an adhesive or etched face. Film is
thin, so keep it clean and avoid creasing.

Dimpled PTFE sheet

In dimple sheet, small recesses are pressed or machined across the
face, and a lubricant (grease) fills them. This keeps lubrication at the
sliding interface for a long time, giving very low friction and long
life. It is used in heavy-duty slide bearings, including some bridge and
structural bearings, where large loads and slow movement are common. The
design of dimples, depth and pattern follows the project specification,

PTFE washers

Washers are flat rings used as spacers, thrust washers, seals and
insulating washers. PTFE reduces friction between rotating parts,
resists chemicals, and does not corrode. Virgin PTFE washers suit
chemical and electrical use; filled grades suit heavier thrust loads.
Specify the inside and outside diameter and the thickness, and the
grade. Washers can be punched from sheet or machined to order.

pattern, thickness and the drawing it must meet. Include the application
so the supplier can check the grade.

Storage and handling

Keep film rolls upright or on a rod so the edges are not crushed.
Avoid folding, because PTFE film keeps creases. Store washers and sheets
flat in clean bags to prevent scratches and dust. Wipe items before use
in clean or chemical applications.

sheet where heavy loads move slowly and lubricant must be retained.
