A gym is rarely one uniform space. Areas with medium weights, machine floors, cardio zones and functional training areas sit side by side, and heavy weights may be dropped in another part of the same room. Bunde Flooring’s catalogue reflects this by splitting its gym flooring into clear groups: a premium range for areas with medium weights, and a bottom layer for heavy weights. Planning by zone is the simplest way to read it.
This range is made by Bunde Flooring, brought to Saudi Arabia through Diode’s partnership with Elaf Rubber.
The premium range covers three 7mm tiles: Troter Genius, Marbled Troter and MUSA. All three are prepared for areas with medium weights, like kettlebells and dumbbells, static gym equipment and machines, cardio areas and functional areas. They share the same tile format, 100x100cm with puzzle ending, and a straight cut on the sides can be provided on request. Because the three suit the same zones, the choice between them comes down to look.
Troter Genius is a very versatile floor with great resistance, specially designed for work areas with medium weights and all types of machinery. It is also an ideal floor for functional work areas, stretching and cardio. It comes in straight colours with a rough surface.
Marbled Troter has a similar resistance to Troter Genius and suits the same areas. Its basic difference lies in the engraving of its surface, which is highly resistant to abrasion, and in its marbled colours, which give an elegant veined effect. The surface is non-rough, and by no means slippery.
MUSA is a speckled floor with great resistance, prepared for medium-weight areas as well as functional and cardio work areas. It is similar to Troter, but comes in mottled colours with dots that give a centre a different aesthetic.
Where heavy weights are dropped, the catalogue points to SonicBase, a bottom layer placed down under the 7mm flooring. It comes in 15mm or 30mm, depending on the client’s needs, and is prepared to absorb vibrations from dropping heavy weights. It is supplied in 115x185cm tiles with a straight cut at the sides. Bunde documents a project in Austria where the client placed SonicBase under Troter Genius 7mm in grey.
Two EVA-rubber products cover spaces outside the main training floor. Tatami 20mm-30mm is made from high-quality EVA rubber and prepared for martial arts and stretching areas. It was developed with an extra point of resistance, so it is comfortable for martial arts but a bit less soft than usual tatamis, giving a more durable product in the end. It is available in 20mm or 30mm thickness, in 100x100cm tiles with puzzle ending.
Cole 18mm is made from EVA rubber and was created for kids’ areas because of its comfortable point and resistance. It comes in 50x50cm tiles with puzzle ending, in green, blue, yellow and red.
Bunde Flooring is engineered in Spain, and Elaf Rubber is its exclusive distributor across the Middle East.
