Ring Types We Supply
- Piston rings: for non-lubricated and lubricated compressors
- Guide / wear rings: keep pistons and rods centred and prevent metal-to-metal contact
- Back-up rings: stop O-rings extruding under high pressure
- Seal rings: static and dynamic sealing in valves and pumps
Choosing a Ring Grade
- Carbon / graphite filled: dry-running compressor piston and rider rings
- Bronze filled: hydraulic guide rings and high-load wear rings
- Glass filled: general wear and back-up rings with good chemical resistance
- Virgin PTFE: back-up rings and seals in aggressive chemicals

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Which PTFE grade is best for compressor piston rings?
A. Carbon or graphite-filled PTFE is the usual choice for dry-running compressor rings.
Q2. What does a back-up ring do?
A. It supports an O-ring and stops it extruding into the clearance gap under high pressure.
Q3. Which PTFE grade is used for hydraulic guide rings?
A. Bronze-filled PTFE, because of its high load capacity and heat transfer.
Q4. Can you make rings to my sizes?
A. Yes. Rings are machined to your drawing or dimensions.
