Why Dimpled PTFE?
- Holds lubricant: the dimples store silicone grease for long service
- Lower friction and wear: especially at low sliding speeds and high loads
- Long life: suited to bridge bearings designed for decades of movement
Applications
- Sliding elements in pot, spherical and guided bridge bearings
- Heavy structural slide bearings
- Large pipe and equipment supports
Dimpled vs Plain PTFE
Plain PTFE is used for most pipe supports and light slide plates. Dimpled PTFE is specified where bearings are lubricated, such as bridge bearing sliding elements designed to standards like EN 1337-2. See PTFE Bridge Bearing & Sliding Plates.
