Ready-Cut Gaskets — Rubber, Non-Asbestos, PTFE & Cork

Technical Specification

Materials Rubber (EPDM, Neoprene, NBR and others), Non-asbestos compressed fibre, PTFE ring gaskets, PTFE envelope gaskets, Rubberised cork
Form Full-face and ring (IBC) flange gaskets, custom-shaped gaskets as per drawing
Standards Cut to common flange standards such as ASME/ANSI B16.5 and EN 1092-1, or to your own drawing
Typical Uses Pipe flanges, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, transformer and gearbox covers, inspection hatches
Note Asbestos gaskets are not supplied — non-asbestos materials are used instead

Why Use Ready-Cut Gaskets

Ordering gaskets ready-cut saves site time and gives a cleaner, more consistent seal than cutting by hand. Key benefits include:

  • Accurate Fit: Bolt holes and bores are cut to size, so the gasket seats correctly first time.
  • Right Material for the Duty: Choose rubber, fibre, PTFE or cork to match the fluid, pressure and temperature.
  • Faster Shutdowns: Gaskets arrive ready to install, cutting maintenance downtime.
  • Repeatable Quality: Every gasket in a batch is cut to the same dimensions.

For gasket sheet materials and selection guidance, see our Gaskets & Seal Materials page.

Ready-Cut Gasket Types

We cut gaskets in the following materials:

  • Rubber gaskets — EPDM for water and weather, Neoprene for general duty, NBR for oils and fuels
  • Non-asbestos gaskets — compressed fibre for steam, water, oils and general process lines
  • PTFE ring gaskets — for aggressive chemicals
  • PTFE envelope gaskets — a PTFE jacket over a compressible insert, for chemical lines and glass-lined or fragile flanges
  • Rubberised cork gaskets — for transformer, gearbox and oil-sump covers

Choosing the Right Gasket Material

  • Water, air and weather exposure: EPDM rubber
  • Oils, fuels and hydraulic fluids: NBR (nitrile) rubber or non-asbestos fibre
  • Steam and hot process lines: non-asbestos compressed fibre
  • Aggressive chemicals: PTFE ring or PTFE envelope gaskets
  • Low-pressure covers on oil-filled equipment: rubberised cork

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Can you cut gaskets to our drawing?

A. Yes. We cut full-face, ring and custom-shaped gaskets to your drawing, sample or flange standard.

Q2. Do you supply asbestos gaskets?

A. No. We supply non-asbestos compressed fibre gaskets, which replace asbestos in modern installations.

Q3. What is a PTFE envelope gasket?

A. It is a gasket with a thin PTFE jacket over a softer insert. The PTFE faces the process fluid for chemical resistance, while the insert provides compressibility for a good seal.

Q4. Where are cork gaskets used?

A. Rubberised cork gaskets are commonly used on transformer covers, gearboxes and oil sumps, where a compressible, oil-resistant seal is needed at low pressure.
