Chevron Conveyor Belt for Steep Inclines
On a plain belt, loose material starts to roll back once the incline passes about 18°. Chevron and profiled belts have a raised V-shaped pattern moulded into the top cover that holds sand, gravel, aggregates, grain, scrap and recycled material in place on steeper conveyors. They are widely used on mobile and portable conveyors, stackers, recycling lines and outdoor incline systems. The best profile height and pattern depend on the material, its lump size and the incline angle.
Steel Cord Conveyor Belt Supplier
Steel cord belts replace fabric plies with a single layer of high-strength steel cables. This gives very high tensile strength with minimal elongation, so the belt needs less take-up travel and keeps its length under heavy load. Steel cord belts are used in mines, ports and heavy industrial plants for high-capacity conveying.
Long Distance Steel Cord Conveyor Belts
For long overland conveyors, low stretch and high strength mean fewer drive stations and more stable running. When you ask for a quote, include the conveyor length, lift, capacity in tonnes per hour, belt speed and pulley diameters so the right strength class can be selected.

Chevron and Steel Cord Belt FAQs
When do I need a chevron belt?
When loose material starts to roll back on a plain belt, usually at inclines above about 18°.
Can chevron belts be used on mobile conveyors?
Yes. They are common on mobile and portable conveyors, stackers and recycling lines.
Why choose a steel cord belt?
Steel cord belts give high tensile strength with minimal stretch, ideal for long-distance and high-capacity conveyors.
What information do you need for a steel cord quote?
Conveyor length, lift, capacity, belt speed, belt width and pulley diameters.
