Chemical resistant ESD mats are made from nitrile (NBR) or specially compounded rubber with conductive fillers. The nitrile base resists oils, fuels, many acids and alkalis and common laboratory solvents, while the conductive compound drains static charge to earth. This makes a single mat suitable for areas where both chemical splash and static discharge are concerns, such as laboratories, battery charging rooms and electronics production floors that use solvents and flux.

Which chemicals do nitrile ESD mats resist?
Nitrile resists oils, fuels, greases and many dilute acids and alkalis. For strong oxidising acids or ketones, ask us about alternative compounds.
Can one mat give both chemical resistance and ESD protection?
Yes. Nitrile mats with conductive fillers do both, and can be earthed with a stud and grounding cord.
Do you supply bench mats as well as floor mats?
Yes. Two-layer ESD bench matting and floor rolls are both available from stock.

What resistance range do ESD floor mats have?

Through a 10 mm earth stud and grounding cord connected to the building earth, or by conductive fixing to an earthed structure.
Can the mats be cleaned with lab disinfectants?
Yes. Nitrile mats tolerate routine cleaning with mild detergents and common disinfectants; avoid prolonged exposure to strong solvents.
