PPS (polyphenylene sulphide) is a high-performance engineering plastic that keeps its strength, stiffness and shape at high temperatures and in aggressive chemicals. It absorbs almost no moisture, so machined parts hold tight tolerances, and it is inherently flame retardant. PPS vs PEEK vs PTFE
PPS sits between PTFE and PEEK. Compared with PTFE (Teflon), it is much stiffer and holds tolerances better under load. Compared with PEEK, it offers similar chemical resistance at a lower cost for many parts, while PEEK handles higher temperatures and loads. Glass-filled and bearing grades improve strength and wear resistance.
